Handcrafted Sterling Silver & Vivid Blue / Green Opal Bead Pendant – Art Jewellery
This beautifully handmade one-off design has been created in sterling silver, the abstract flowing pendant is reminiscent of a web of woven precious metals. This intriguing web has caught a beautiful black opal. The solid opal bead featured in this contemporary one off design is sublime. The colours within the opal are vivacious and vibrant against an inky black surround, deep ocean blues morph into lush emerald greens and the mysterious gem is alluring and delightful. The combination of freestyle silver woven from wax initially to create the fine strands and then cast in silver, to solidify the fineness of each strand in a beautiful precious metal, made to last. The pendant offers great flexibility, it can be worn casually or dressed up with a stunning little black dress for a night out somewhere special.
This one-off design was conceptualised after a night star gazing in Coonabarabran, regional NSW. After a camping trip, looking up at the stars in the amazing night sky, the swirling Milky Way or galaxy stars inspired the swirling design with the opal representing the earth aspect of the scene. As with any artisan piece the theme is always open to interpretation and you are invited to make your own story with your pendant.
The beautiful solid opal bead is central to the design with the woven features of the silver creating a three dimensional look, the opal just pops with intense colour. This piece could be worn all ways just loop the chain through and try it out! The size of the pendant makes it really stand out as an interesting statement piece of art jewellery.
